Using waterlocks is the only way to make a true airlock. This prevents gases in two rooms from mixing. This example shows a 3 tile high waterlock, which somehow prevents a dupe from getting his feet wet when he jumps through it. It is so you can isolate different gasses in different sections of your base... and allow dupes to still pass through.

2018年3月20日 · Thanks to all the suggestions from my post yesterday I have made an improved liquid airlock that allows dupes to pass though without getting wet so they don't get stressed. The liquid airlock is crude oil, petroleum, and water stacked at 10g each. By having the dupe jump though the gap it avoids getting the wet debuff.

2018年5月19日 · Trying to build my first liquid lock and it's not going well. When I try to deconstruct the extra tiles, the water simply sloshes out into the neighboring tiles, making a huge mess and the total mass drops out of the top tile into the bottom one, allowing gas mixing.

2020年4月25日 · Building and maintaining locks is the part of vanilla I find the most tedious. Self sealing air locks mod is kind of cheating but damn it’s a nice QOL improvement. It's really not that tedious if you use Pliers mod and are willing to run a pipe for it.
