2019年3月30日 · I really do like OMNY but if I lose my OMNY card I have to keep paying $6 to the MTA. So now I would end up paying $18 to the MTA now if I did purchase a 3rd OMNY card now. I will wait. I don't like to put OMNY card virtually on my phone because I don't know what gets transferred to the MTA. All my contacts are on my phone.

2019年3月30日 · Well we have to wait until the NEXT OMNY meeting next year in May 2025 and I think that will be the final discussion about OMNY and by then I think the MTA will give a deadline for the Metro card. I'm surprised they are still going to come out with the virtual card.

2019年3月30日 · Especially people who are not tech savvy (computer and smartphones) they would go to OMNY machines. For elder or seniors who will get the OMNY cards they would go to the OMNY machines to refill the cards (Yes they can go to Walgreens or 7-Eleven or they can go to the OMNY vans when the Metro Card vans will be converted to OMNY I guess).

2019年3月30日 · OMNY has already been widely adopted in New York City, where all buses and subway stations accept the new fare payment system. But the MTA is years late in rolling out OMNY on "affiliate" bus systems that currently accept the MetroCard, including the Nassau Inter-County Express, or NICE Bus.

2019年3月30日 · It's only OMNY that I have issues with, so I just use contactless cards now. I do have Apple devices, but not an iPhone, but even so, I hear other people with iPhones have the same issues I do so it is definitely a OMNY issue. It must have communication problems that the contactless cards don't.

2019年12月10日 · OMNY app for commuter rail can work just like Caltrain - you must have an active ticket in the app, a paper ticket purchased in the last 4 hours from a vending machine at every station, a tapped-in pay-per-ride Clipper card, or an active monthly pass on your Clipper card, or you get a fine.

2019年3月30日 · If you buy at retails it expires 7 year since your purchase date. I remember that the MTA when they first introduced the OMNY card and you had to purchase at the retail stores they said 7 years. But then they started the OMNY vending machine last year and then they said it's for 5 years then it will expire so it shortened 2 years by retail stores.

2019年3月30日 · Yes that is the sad part like your reaction to my post. The MTA wants to get things done right and have people to get their OMNY cards and they should give "unlimited monthly" to the OMNY card users so user can switch and ditch the Metro Card but then again if people take the NICE bus that is a problem because they don't have the OMNY readers yet.
