St. Olaf Emergency Medical Technician organization (SOEMT) provides the St. Olaf Community with voluntary emergency medical response services. Its sole purpose is to provide the highest quality emergency medical care to the St. Olaf College community regardless of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.

CPR/AED Classes at St. Olaf. The prompt and accurate execution of Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), Automated External Defibrillation (AED), and/or First Aid Skills in a medical emergency can drastically improve the patient’s outcome.

Olaf EMTs is a collegiate-based emergency medical service providing free, enhanced medical assistance to the entire St. Olaf community. SOEMT is a non-transporting First Responder Unit.

Current NREMT certification, EMSRB licensure, and current BLS certification. All certifications are due by the mock scenarios in September. All SOEMT applicants will undergo a mock medical scenario. This is designed to simulate a real campus EMT call and provides a great way for the executive team to evaluate an applicant’s skills.

St. Olaf EMTs: In an effort to provide the highest possible medical care at injury and accident scenes on campus, a voluntary program has been created which utilizes St. Olaf students who possess Emergency Medical Technician certification.

When St. Olaf College students are in need of medical assistance, they can receive quick, professional care from an award-winning group of trained first responders right on campus.

St. Olaf's student EMTs are highly trained and respond to calls at all hours of the day and night. It's 5:30 a.m., and most people at St. Olaf College are still soaking up the last few hours of sleep before their alarm clock starts the day.

During the academic year, when classes are in session, St. Olaf Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT’s) will also respond to the call. St. Olaf EMT’s are nationally trained and certified students who respond to medical situations in conjunction with Public Safety.
