ABASCO anchor systems keep deployed boom in place for optimum oil containment. Systems include Danforth-type anchors, yellow nylon rope, chain leader, small floats, and hard-shell floats and are customized for each boom type and application.

A nylon rope runs through each boom and has carbon steel connectors so you only use the number of booms required to contain the spill. Retrieval is easy with the long-lasting, durable linking system. The oil absorbent booms come in a bright white color to make it easy to see when they are completely fully saturated.

Oil spill containment boom can be anchored using three different techniques: (1) Free Anchoring (2) Shoreline Anchoring, and (3) Dock Anchoring. This edition will focus on ACME’s free anchoring technique. ACME extensively uses a standard, double 40 lb Anchor system when anchoring oil spill containment boom sections in an open body of water.

Pulling the rope from one end of the boom quickly deflates and compacts the boom. The compacted boom is then ready to re-pack into the barrel for storage until next deployment. The Barrel-O-Boom System is a self-contained oil spill response kit that features self-inflating boom for fast, easy deployment.

Oil absorbent boom is used to absorb and contain oil. A strong mesh outer sleeve encases a poly sock skin filled with highly-sorbent poly blend. Booms won’t shed or sink, even when saturated with oil. Folded sweeps float on water to absorb oily spills and even surface sheen.
