The lens is centered and squared very precisely (within microns) Unless you have a well equipped machine shop, I can’t see doing this. And I have a very well equipped machine shop! The next issue is software. If you have not used ocal it is hard to understand the value of their software.

2023年11月2日 · OCAL implies collimation for an SCT is simply centering the secondary in the primary. The important element for collimating an SCT is the “ refractive ” component. Cheshires, Alines, OCAL et al are very helpful in checking that the focus tube, secondary and primary are not grossly misaligned causing vignetting.

Using a tool like that, or just centerIng an "out-of-focus shadow" is a good starting point, but it has to be followed up by working toward "in-focus" stars at high power to achieve the best result.
