Shepard Fairey, born in 1970, is a pioneering figure in the world of street art and contemporary graphic design. This American contemporary street artist and graphic designer, hailing from Charleston, South Carolina, moved to Rhode Island in 1988 to attend the Rhode Island School of Design, where he developed a keen interest in modern art.

In 2001, Fairey launched Obey Clothing, a streetwear brand that fuses fashion and activism.
