Question what is the difference HO vs OO scale? - Trainorders.com
OO that uses 16.5 mm track is a British thing while continental Europe uses HO with 16.5mm track. However things used to be where each continental manufacturer did its own thing in the scale gauge ratio. Fleischmann went from 1:82 to 1:85 and on to 1:87.
OO scale & HO scale.........what's the difference? - Trainorders.com
The correct gauge for 1:76 scale would be roughly 18.8mm, and in fact there are a couple of fine-scale British standards which offer this (EM and Proto4). OO track looks kind of narrow underneath British outline models. (The effect is even worse when you run Irish outline models on OO or HO track - the Irish standard gauge is 5'3").

Differences between GP60M cab and later EMD safety cabs
Differences in the taper of the nose are not really appearant, you only have a couple of feet around you. The GP60Ms are similar to the SD60Ms with two windows with a difference, the sides of the nose taper inward in front of the cab on the SDs. Oo the three window SD60Ms as well as the F59PHs the nose is the same as the GP60Ms.

Locomotive repair facility planned for Monte Vista, Colorado?
First off, the Cumbres & Toltec is a 3' gauge RR. Using an existing standard gauge shop with pits, etc. does not work well. Monte Vista Machine Tool has a small fleet of cranes. They were our go-to for any big lifting jobs we had when I worked for the SLRG.
