Feb 11, 2016 · All coins (including the NNC slabbed ones) are part of an estate that I was asked to appraise and sell off for the owner. The NNC slabbed coins were done about 10+ years ago. Thousands of coins... US and world coins... in cardboard packets, with about 100+ in NNC slabs (there are also PCGS, ANACS, and other slabs)

Dec 16, 2014 · I would be more skeptical of an NNC coin than a raw coin; there is a reason someone sends a coin to a disreputable grading company. Having said that, there are occasionally good coins in NNC slabs, though considerably (10 pts or so) overgraded even if they are actually problem free. Make sure you have clear pictures to go on.

In other words, they slab and sell their own coins, many times in MS70 and PR70 (perfect) grades. It looks and sounds good until you try to sell them to somebody that knows a little about coins and grading."-Midas

It is pretty ludicrous how the bay is so strict with their pool of "acceptable graders" & yet allow shady sellers to re-list items with clear shill bidding (to drum up attention), turn a blind eye to mislabelled items, reproductions, altered bogus numismatic fakes, manufactured holders, etc.

Jun 11, 2015 · After reading the article about the problem with over-grading Coin grading services such as NNC and SGS, it reminded me of my purchase experience on EBAY. The coins that I bid on and won were a date and mint run of Washington Quarters 1950-D through 1959-D. All graded by SGS as MS 70!!
