Also keep in mind that anything Nincada has will be duplicated (one copy goes to Ninjask and one goes to Shedinja) so pausing evolution for the first few hundred stages of the game can be handy for that anyway. That's a lot to lose, or let's say, a lot more candy to earn to get a Shedinja the next time we evolve a Nincada again. TL;DR: (1) "Evolve a Nincada" Field Research awards a Shedinja encounter. (2) High evolution candy requirement will discourage prompt evolution of Nincada, making earning of Shedinja more challenging and feasible.

When training it, make sure to have an empty party slot and a spare regular Pokeball in your bag, otherwise you might end up having to train it twice in order to get Shedninja.
