Management of patients with non‐ischaemic cardiomyopathy
In ischaemic cardiomyopathy, ventricular dysfunction is a consequence of myocardial ischaemia and infarction related to coronary arteriosclerosis, while there are many potential causes of non‐ischaemic cardiomyopathy (NICM), including haemodynamic pathology, infection, immunologic abnormalities, toxic injury, or genetic factors.
Accurate Classification of Non-ischemic Cardiomyopathy - PMC
Data sources for accurate classification reference of NICM, including clinical characteristics, pathology, imaging manifestations, genomics and proteomics, etiology, and multimodal deep learning of patients. We have summarized the current accurate classification criteria and characteristics of each subtype of cardiomyopathy (Fig. 2). Currently ...
Distribution of late gadolinium enhancement in various types of ...
We review characteristic CMR features in ischemic and non-ischemic cardiomyopathies (ICM and NICM), especially in terms of the location and distribution of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE). CMR in ICM shows segmental wall motion abnormalities or wall thinning in a particular coronary arterial territory, and the subendocardial or transmural LGE.
Management of patients with non-ischaemic cardiomyopathy
Estimates of the prevalence of NICM range from 2–15% in community or hospital settings, and up to 50% in large clinical trials.1 Although the causes of NICM are many and varied, they generally culminate in a final common pathway of myocardial injury leading to ventricular dysfunction and clinical heart failure.
Primary Prevention ICDs in Nonischemic Cardiomyopathy:
NICM is a heterogeneous condition with a variety of causes, including inflammation, genetic abnormalities, toxin exposure, and chronic tachycardia/ectopy. The reversibility of systolic dysfunction and overall prognosis is related to etiology, and the risk of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias is higher in some conditions (e.g ...

Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator for Nonischemic …
2016年12月19日 · We identified 6 RCTs enrolling 2970 patients with NICM to study the efficacy of ICDs for primary prevention. Pooled analysis of the 6 RCTs (including those with CRT defibrillator) demonstrated a statistically significant 23% risk reduction in all-cause mortality in favor of ICD therapy (hazard ratio, 0.77; 95% CI, 0.64–0.91) ( Figure ).
Background: Delayed contrast enhancement in cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging plays a pivotal role in assessing myocardial tissue characteristics in non-ischemic cardiomyopathy (NICM). This study aims to explore the various patterns of late gadolinium enhancement (LGE) observed in NICM patients and their correlation with clinical outcomes.
HEART:非缺血性心肌病的全新荟萃分析! - MedSci.cn
Nonischemic cardiomyopathy and implantable cardioverter …
2008年9月11日 · Nonischemic cardiomyopathy (NICM) represents a heterogeneous group of conditions that can cause left ventricular dysfunction. 1 Studies have suggested that patients with NICM who have received implantable cardioverter-defibrillator (ICD) therapy in addition to standard medical therapy have better survival. 2,3 There are few data on whether the ...
