Ng Mui (Chinese: t 伍枚, p Wú Méi; Cantonese: Ng5 Mui4) is said to have been one of the legendary Five Elders —survivors of the destruction of the Shaolin Temple by the Qing Dynasty.

Wing Chun is one of the world's youngest Kung Fu styles and the only one founded by a woman. That woman was Ng Mui (or Ng Mei), a Buddhist nun of China's famous Shaolin Temple. Ng Mui was recognised as one of the top five martial artists in China during the early 1700s.

One of the Legendary Five Elders of the Sil Lum Temple, Ng Miu was the developer and original founder of the Wing Chun Kung Fu system. Buddhist nun and Bil Gee master and Dim Mak expert, the true identity of Ng Mui, has been under debate for over two hundred years. Ng Mui taught Yim Wing Chun whose lineage is that of the Ip Man system.

Although Ip Man is widely credited for bringing awareness to the style and made it famous, the originator of Wing Chun was a woman. She was Shaolin Abbess Ng Mui, a master of Shaolin Kung Fu who used this knowledge to invent a way to take advantage of the weaknesses found in other Shaolin systems.

2015年2月18日 · Ng Mui instructed Fong Weng Chun (a male student) to specialize in the two animal systems known as the Weng Chun Dein Fu-Hok Sheong Ying. Most Fong clansman preferred the Crane techniques.

The Buddhist Mistress Ng Mui was the only female in the Siu Lam Monastery and the eldest among the Five Elders. She was more tolerant towards the Manchu Governement than her kung-fu brothers and their hot-tempered disciples, (though of course would sometimes apply physicel power if necessary, in order to maintain justice).
