The Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC) is a 234,000 square-foot (21,700 m 2) [1] building at Northeastern University designed for collaborative research, laboratory access, and classroom learning. The building is located on the University's central campus at 805 Columbus Ave, Boston, Massachusetts.

The ISEC is designed to advance the University’s cutting-edge, interdisciplinary approach to global challenges in the areas of sustainability, security and health. The building’s guiding principle is to enable the fortuitous collisions, conversation and collaborations that break down disciplinary divides.

Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex (ISEC) ISEC is a six-story, 223,000 square foot facility is designed to spur research innovation and collaboration, and is home to the several engineering disciplines and research areas including bioengineering, robotics and wireless communications.

The new landscape at the Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering Complex at Northeastern University serves as a gateway bridge between the existing campus and the adjacent Roxbury neighborhood. A major streetscape intervention and bikeway provides distinct and safe pedestrian and commuter passage.

2017年10月12日 · The ISEC is tracking LEED Gold, and saves 75% more energy throughout everyday use than a typical lab. The cascade air system supplies air to offices cooled through a chilled beam system. Air is drawn from offices through the atrium where it is recycled through the lab supply, feeding the high-energy lab spaces.

EXP will be the second science building enhancing Northeastern’s commitment to creating a globally networked ecosystem for research, innovation, and entrepreneurship. The new modern research space is designed to be completely flexible, allowing conversion from dry labs to wet labs as needed to accommodate different occupants.

As a sibling building to the EXP, ISEC features an awe-inspiring six-story atrium that negotiates the two main programs of the building: laboratories and offices.
