Nephi (/ ˈniːˌfaɪ /) [1] is one of the central figures described in the Book of Mormon. In the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he is described as the son of Lehi, a prophet, and the founder of the Nephite people. The Book of Mormon also describes him as the author of its first two books, First and Second Nephi.

2011年5月27日 · The first of several leaders named Nephi in the Book of Mormon, Nephi 1 was an influential prophet and the founder of the nephite people. He was apparently well-educated, faithful and obedient to God, courageous, and bold.

One of these was Nephi, a truly superlative man. Indeed, he was the prototype of those renowned Book of Mormon prophets and kings who came after him. These and many unidentified prophets reflected Nephi’s faith, courage, and commitment.

As Nephi began to make an abridgment of his father’s record, he stated that his objective was to show “that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he has chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even unto the power of deliverance” (1 Nephi 1:20; italics added).
