2011年9月13日 · Research indicates that all of the tapered cross-section sleeper cars from the 1st thru 4th streamliner trains were scrapped before the Joint ownership agreements were dissolved in 1948, so UP never owned them outright.

The 5800s were originally A-1-A trucked, center axle later removed. These NdeM locos were originally delivered with a steam generator, but they wew later converted to freight haulers; all were scrapped. EA015 sold to Metro Transit in Quebec (?)

This locomotive, classified by Alco as model DL-701, was their replacement for the very popular RS-3 road-switcher. Featuring a V-12, 1,800hp 251B diesel engine, the RS-11 was Alco’s answer to EMD’s very successful GP9.

Pictured here is an example of Alco's "World Locomotive", 1800-horsepower cousin to Montreal Locomotive Works's FPA-4 passenger power. Introduced in 1953, most "World Locomotives" were powered by Alco's 251B V12 engine and rode atop six-wheel trucks.
