I figured there might be more than a few of the original caps going one way or the other on ESR and throwing a lot of current into those guys, so I decided it would be a good investment in time to change out the electrolytic caps.

2016年11月1日 · I've had a tough time finding some insight and user experience between these two NAD amps. I'm currently running Pioneer HPM 100s and if I remember correctly they're 50 watts per channel. Right now I'm trading an amp and have been deciding between a used NAD 3100 and a used 3150.

2018年2月18日 · Maybe I'm being too tough on the 3150 but I gave it every chance, probably spent 200hours on it. Initial recap with cerafines to "tone it down" and then redone with Silmic II's for the better, Nichicon in psu. Even purchased a second 3150 thinking it was a problem with the original unit, refurb'd, same result.

2018年2月18日 · I suppose the resistor under the board is there to reduce current thru the coil- meaning a higher value series resistor is likely a good fix. Perhaps it was cheaper for NAD to fiddle around with metal films likely already on hand for the unit than to spec an additional part. I do like how easy it is to work on the 3150 though.

2019年9月8日 · In NAD 1155 IC301 2043D swapped in 584-AD823ANZ and NAD 2200 2043DD swapped in 926- LME49720NA/NOPB. In the NAD 3150, most of the other green caps while not necessarily signal path per se could be argued to be close.

2025年3月21日 · Just a second confirmation of the resolution here. Working on a NAD 3150 with the same Protection symptoms, replaced Q619 and Q620 with BC546 and Q621 with BC556 and unit came right back up.
