I've been running through NCEES official practice exams for preparation. Has anyone noticed the glaring errors in the "official" NCEES practice...

So, this happened…. I took the NCEES PE Power Exam and failed for the 3rd time in a 1-year period. This after studying for more than 6 months, taking an awesome review course, doing the NCEES’ review test and scoring above 90%, taking the test last January 19 and coming out of the test convinced I passed. Yet today I get another ‘FAIL’.

2016年8月26日 · NCEES is currently holding a meeting so hopefully someone can talk some sense into them. I refuse to believe that an organization run by engineers would think this system was acceptable. The only good news is, once setup, the new records system is better than the old one and doesn't have a yearly fee.

2024年5月29日 · Anyways, NCEES allows me to create a course description, which contains only courses that I attended and passed, as long as it is certified by the university but unfortunately, my university is not even willing to certify this, even though I graduated there.

2021年8月6日 · Study materials: Last two NCEES Practice Exams (2017 & 2020) and PrepFE My experience within the exam: First half (55 questions) - I flagged about 15 questions. Mostly was questions within Mathematics and Mechanics of Mat’l portion. I truly underestimated the math portion and sort threw me off rhythm.

2024年3月9日 · I recommend purchasing a PE Civil Structural practice exam from the NCEES website and simulating the exam to the best of your ability (e.g. time yourself, do not allow yourself to look at notes or practice problems for reference, and only utilize the code references with no bookmarks/annotations/tabs, ideally in searchable pdf form).

2023年5月22日 · Best advice is probably submitting your experience through NCEES, and getting critiqued by a review, and then dump your experience write up into Chat-gpt and the review critiques and you should get a good sense of the changes you should make.

2001年5月22日 · The concept of a PE exam is a good one - the execution by NCEES is not. The breadth component is either useless or dangerous depending on your view. The SE exam is much better as an exam format, but state boards are probably requiring it in a lot of cases, and it's probably too hard judging by pass rates, although I guess you never know who is ...

2012年1月11日 · Just did NCEES last year. After submitting everything online, you'll get a link to the downloadable forms with your descriptions already included. You print and mail them to the references (nice to include a cover letter and stamped-n-ready envelope). The reference must send the form directly back to NCEES, not to you.
