2018年5月21日 · N63TU has forged rods and different cylinder sleeve treatment than the original N63. A very short period and small amounts of misfires will not destroy it easily, as @Rusty34 mentions, an extra oil change with qualified oil in between factory recommended interval will only benefits your engine.

2017年6月12日 · I have a CPO 2014 X5 50i with the N63TU engine. I see that all the older variants of the N63 have been subject to a "quiet recall" but not the TU, presumably because the problems have been fixed. Mine still guzzles a ton of oil, but we could live with this. This past week, however, I had the misfortune of taking the car on an extended roadtrip.

2018年11月29日 · While some will insist that no 2013s were built with the N63, reading this and other forums suggests that some of the earliest built 2013s (summer 2012) do have either the N63, or what is labeled an N63tu that still has the known N63 problems. 2015MY should be 2 years clear of these issues.

2013年7月15日 · The N63TU has revised turbos with more turbine blades Thats all i remember for now and those are the key interesting stuff for me. Hopefully this updated motor solved some of the earlier issues that the 550's had revolving around the fuel system and burning tons of oil in-between oil changes.

2018年4月6日 · You have the N63TU. The updated and revised TU engine differs quite a bit from the first design N63. With that said, we are getting occasional reports of TU's still experiencing some issues but not nearly to the extent of the earlier N63.

2019年11月12日 · Anyone have input on the motor oil best for our engines. Started out using Mobil one full synthetic 0-40. Then moved to Castrol full synthetic 0-40. Now moved to Penzoil full synthetic 0-40. What's the best. Sent from my iPhone using Bimmerfest mobile app
