2013年6月23日 · I'm not fluent in French, but I've been travelling through Québec for the past two weeks, so I've heard the language spoken quite a bit. One thing that has struck me is the pronunciation of the word "ouais": many/most people seem to nasalize or pre-nasalize the initial vowel, so that the word sounds (to me) more like "mouai".
