莫一點是廣東新會雙水鄉北羅山村人，一九四七年出身於一個貧苦的務農家庭。 一九五九年十一月從他的故鄉到澳門，翌年深秋來香港。 他自少喜愛畫畫，一九六四年三月（十七歲）隨中外著名畫家丁衍庸先生學畫。 在丁先生的教導和薰陶下，不但藝事大進，而且還引起治印及收藏古今書畫的興趣。 幾十年來，他收藏了不少名家的墨寶，包括任伯年、吳昌碩、齊白石、潘天壽、黃賓虹、丁衍庸、林風眠、關良、李可染、宋文治、亞明、吳冠中、程十髮、陸儼少、楊善深、趙少昂、 …
