The MINSK-22 was a modified version of Minsk-2 that went into production in 1965. The MINSK-23 went into production in 1966. The most advanced model was Minsk-32, developed in 1968. It supported COBOL, FORTRAN and ALGAMS (a version of ALGOL).

This is an emulator of the Минск-2 (Minsk-2) and Минск-22 (Minsk-22) – mainframe computers from the Soviet era, produced around 1963 and 1965 respectively, in the Byelorussian SSR. The Minsk-2 emulator was originally written for a task in the Po drátě hacking contest (sorry, the page is in Czech only).

The minsk emulator in this repository was originally developed by Martin Mareš in 2010. This is a version modified by Rutger van Bergen. With the adoption of support for the Minsk-22 in the oiginal emulator, both are functionally identical.

The Minsk 22, also a word-organised machine, had a main memory with an 8 Kword (37 bit/word) capacity ferrite memory, an operation speed of 10,000 operations/second, and a reasonably unreliable 1″ (non-standard), 800 words capacity magnetic tape unit memory.

Detailed descriptions of two computers in the Minsk series are included in this issue — the Minsk-22, probably the most widely used machine in the USSR, and the Minsk-32, the newest model in the series.

A brief description is presented of the Minsk-222 logic structure, its parameters and command systems. By the Minsk-222 is meant either the Minsk-2 or Minsk-22. The machine operates with numbers having both a fixed and floating decimal point with a grid containing 37 bits.
