Point 2: Mihawk not having scars and Shanks having some is a really stupid argument, as progression of power and the experiences on the way to become the strongest are very much different. It surely hints that Mihawk is extremely powerful, but many of the strongest characters in the One Piece Universe have Scars.

Mihawk wasn't the only one who failed to kill Luffy in Marineford, but funny how he's the only person people love to criticize over that. The truth of the matter is, powerscaling-wise, Luffy was a powerscaling mess during the entire Marineford Saga and trying to criticize Mihawk or anybody over not killing him is dumb as hell.
