2016年5月24日 · Since I got my Trumpeter miG-15 I overlaid it on my Tamiya kit. Here is what I observed. The vertical stab on the Tamiya is slightly more but the wing sweep on the Tamiya is substantially less. Both the leading and trailing edges. I think I am willing to live with the fault of the Trumpeter more comfortably. I hate to admit it.

2009年1月13日 · Also, FWIW, MiG-15s (and all other post-war Soviet types) aren't truly NMF. They were painted with a semi-gloss clear varnish to protect the metal from corrosion. From a modeling perspective, that gives your model almost a painted silver appearance.

2021年11月12日 · The decals from France finally arrived so today I completed the decaling process. Interestingly the Hi Decal 48-009 for the Mig 15 Bis has the additional dragon emblems on the nose that were not there with my initial set (also 48-009). Best MiG-17 is the Hobby Boss kit (but the radar-nosed version is less accurate) Best MiG-19 is the Trumpeter kit (because it's pretty much the only one out there. I well remember the demonstration in my Thermodynamic class where the prof showed us 2 solid materials (I believe one was Indium) when he but them in the palm of his hand and kneaded them together, they melted into a liquid pool.
