Built with the Shelby Cobra in mind, but Chevy powered. Restoration started in 1966 after being stored from 1972 until 1995. The goal was a street legal, stock looking, moderate performance driver with sports car handling. stock MGA with modified heater shelf "goal post" crossbar to fit V-8 and new crossmember for transmission. stock 94".

2021年1月26日 · The 3.9-liter Rover V8 was installed in 2012 and features a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a Sprint camshaft, and an MG-branded air cleaner and finned valve covers. An aluminum radiator with twin electric cooling fans is fitted. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a Tremec close-ratio five-speed manual transmission.

The Ford 289ci V8 is believed to have been sourced from a late-60s Mustang and features an aluminum Edelbrock intake manifold, a Holley four-barrel carburetor, a Mallory dual-point distributor, and custom-fabricated headers. The original engine was pulled in the early 1970s, and the swap was initially performed with a C4 automatic transmission.

2024年8月12日 · This 1957 MGA roadster received a refurbishment under previous ownership that included installing a 215ci Buick V8 and a five-speed manual transmission, repainting the body in metallic blue, and retrimming the interior in gray leather upholstery.

2015年10月15日 · You might want to browse through the 'engine swap' section. Most common is the aluminum V8 (Rover, former Buick/Olds engine) into an MGB but it is likely there have been other swaps done.

A V8 engine conversion is extremely difficult in the MGA because of the narrow frame in the engine bay. I have only seen one V8 MGA that was ever done in a respectable manner, and that one involved widening the whole car by six inches and still didn't have any heater when finished. In other words, forget it.

2024年9月3日 · Perhaps the work needed is tied to the Buick 215 cubic inch V8 that has replaced the original 4-banger. We don’t know how this MG came about being fitted with a Buick small block, but things look rather snug under the hood now. Buick developed the 215 V8 (and others with larger displacements) in the 1960s.
