That this faction from ES2 looks a lot like/is based on the United Empire. It looks like Amplitude extended the term 'Mezari' to include all humans instead of just a small group that landed on Auriga. In ES the Horatio came forth from the United Empire, in ES2 from the Mezari empire or what it's called. EDIT: Are the Mezari mentioned in ES1?

As far as lore is concerned, The Mezari are the people who would eventually become the Vaulters, having crashed on Auriga and gradually lost the information about how they got there over the generations.

2022年3月10日 · In conclusion, the Mezari and Sheredyn are equally powerful to each other and significantly better than staying Imperial. The only reason I finished with the Sheredyn 1 turn earlier than the Mezari is because my government was never changed by an enemy hack in my Sheredyn playthrough.
