Mesa County is located in Colorado and shares its Western border with Utah. Mesa County was founded on February 14th, 1883 and Grand Junction is the County Seat. As one of 64 counties in the state, Mesa County covers 3,350 square miles.

Mesa County is situated on 3,341 square miles of the eastern Colorado Plateau in western Colorado. The county is named for the wide, flat-topped mountains within its borders. The Spanish called such mountains mesas—meaning “tables.”

Grand Junction is the largest city in Mesa County and is the county seat. Almost directly between Salt Lake City, Utah and Denver, Colorado, Grand Junction calls home to 66,000 residents. The city gained it's name from the confluence of the Colorado and Gunnison rivers.
