
What is the difference between "match" ,"suit" and "fit"
2015年6月11日 · 'match' means two pieces of clothing go well together. For example, 'the pink of the shoes matches the highlights in the collar of the shirt'. A dictionary will show the many other meanings (eg match in a game of tennis, suit as in a jacket and pants, fit as in healthy).
Is it correct to say something is "suitable/fit for" somebody?
Instead I'd use a different choice of words that are more clear, like "Sally and I were not a good match." Also note that "fit" can also refer to something being of the appropriate size or shape. Like if you say, "This shirt doesn't fit me", that would normally be understood to mean that it was too big or too small, rather than being a style ...

Make it specific to the work this position entails, and your prior related experience. Let them draw the conclusion that you're a good fit. If you want to make it easy for the recruiter to check that you meet the requirements, use a highlighter on your resume. But that's not what a cover letter is for.
