QUIKRETE® Acrylic Concrete Cure & Seal – Satin Finish (No. 8730) is a dual purpose water based clear acrylic coating that cures freshly placed concrete and seals concrete and masonry surfaces. The sealer can be applied immediately after the finishing application and provides a durable semi-gloss finish.

To create good condition for a moist cure, install a burlap that will be topped with a perforated garden hose. Then you have to cover it all with a polythene plastic (fig. 1). Using the perforated hose, make sure to continuously keep the burlap damp.

Grout is used to give added strength to both reinforced and unreinforced concrete masonry walls by grouting either some or all of the cores. It is also used to fill bond beams and occasionally to fill the collar joint of a multi-wythe wall.

There are two general types of concrete and masonry sealers: film-forming and penetrating. Film-forming sealers reduce penetration of water and contaminants by forming a barrier on the concrete surface; they also darken the concrete and provide varying levels of gloss, giving the substrate a “wet look”.

QUIKWALL® Surface Bonding Cement adds strength, durability, and water resistance to walls made of concrete, concrete or cinder block, brick, terra cotta tile and stone. It is an ideal material for restoring and/or beautifying buildings, walls and chimneys.

The Armor LV15 is a solvent-based low gloss acrylic cure and seal designed to enhance, seal and protect concrete and concrete paver surfaces. It will darken the surface to enhance any dull and faded coloring and protect the surface with a durable low gloss surface film.

Old masonry surfaces should be prepared for painting or sealing by removing any flaking damage, cleaning, and then repairing before any paint is applied. Scrape away flaking with a masonry trowel or putty knife. Dig in and around cracks and other damaged areas to remove everything that will come free.
