2017年9月5日 · There should be no shortage of manes to do menial tasks, and given that they're weak and the Abyss constantly spawns them from the souls of damned mortals, they're probably considered expendable. Finally, don't forget that the descriptions of the planes are written from the perspective of denizens of the Material Plane.

2019年2月7日 · CR 1 demons include Quasits and Maw Demons; CR 1/4 gives us the Dretch (and Manes are available at CR 1/8). However, I could not find any CR 1/2 demons that the middle result might summon. Searching D&D Beyond for creatures tagged "demon" didn't turn up any demon of CR 1/2.

The only entry that talks about a demon's true name outside of the spells you mention comes from the Monster Manual entry on demons: DEMON TRUE NAMES. Though demons all have common names, every demon lord and every demon of type 1 through 6 has a true name that it keeps secret.

2022年2月17日 · Other demons (such as manes) are created from mortal souls shunned or cursed by the gods, or which are otherwise trapped in the Abyss. The conversion of a soul into a demon is explicitly a form of 'spawning', so they're native to the Abyss (by default; your setting may vary) as much as any other demon is.

The MM keeps referring to a demon's "essence" instead of its "soul", and the only reference to a demonic soul is in the description of a Manes, which somehow is a soul, or at least a former soul. I'm not sure what the implications of this wording are, but it's worth noting that wordings are very carefully chosen in the rulebooks.

The variant familiar forms of the imp and the quasit as described in the Monster Manual are not the same as familiars summoned by the spell Find Familiar, or of the sort summoned by a Pact of the C...

2022年5月10日 · Only the very lowest class of fiends (the fractional-CR Manes, Lemures, and Dretches) lack this Magic Resistance. If you're above level 10, their resistances won't matter anyway -- you should be able to easily wipe out large groups of them even if you use a damage type they can resist.
