Malin is a character who debuts in The King of Fighters 2003 as a member of the High School Girls Team (alongside Athena Asamiya and Hinako Shijou). Her addition to the KOF series was made due to Choi Bounge's absence in the game of her debut.

Prior to the 2003 tournament, Athena Asamiya meets Hinako in Kyoto. she tells Hinako that she isn't joining this year's KOF tournament with Sie Kensou or Chin Gentsai, and want to team up with other people this year. While deciding who will be their final member, Malin appeared before them to join their team.
