Also, the v63mbp (for "battery powered") is based on the same circuit and capsule, with the one difference of including an option to use an internal battery rather than "phantom power". 2008年1月1日 · The V63M is definitely warmer on my voice, and has a fuller sound. The 990 is a good budget mic, I use it for podcasting, acoustic guitars, and as a drum OH, but with the V63M, I don't see myself reaching for the 990 for vocals unless it'll be a better fit for the voice.

2009年3月12日 · one main concern is that i am having a difficult time getting my mic levels high enough without introducing noise, it seems that the 4000 would do a better job of that, and yes, the omni and figure8 patterns are useless to me, looked at the V67g and it seems to have the same specs as the V63M, almost exactly, at least looking at MXL's website.

2012年7月6日 · AFAIK, this is the same schoeps clone circuit. (Transformerless output) There are a couple of recent threads here for a MXL 990 mod. It's the same circuit, and one mod is in the recommendation on your thread at GS alos. I have those files, and will post for you.

2021年4月26日 · MXL V63m modified condenser microphone. I did the "zapnspark direct connect mod" which eliminates the coupling capacitor between the capsule and the amplifying transistor. I also replaced the stock 32mm "K67" knockoff capsule with a 34mm "K47" style capsule, (similar to the RK47, but from an unknown factory).

2002年12月6日 · The V63M is a rebadged 1006. The V67B and V67G is the same mic, different colors. Harvey Gerst is on the verge(not as soon as you think) of broadcasting his review of a whole slew of the mxl and studio project mics. I saw at Harvey's PSW forum a thread on the mxl rebade game. Since the 67b is the same as the 67g, why pay so much for the colors?

2008年12月28日 · The MXL may be a better choice just because it is a little closer to that "classic studio sound" on the other hand, SM58s are really good mics overall... The MXL will probably pick up more, including mess ups, just being a condenser and all... REMEMBER you will need phantom power.

2021年10月21日 · The output of these "rk87" capsules is much lower than the stock rk47 found in the V63M, so much so that the S/N ratio makes them unusable on anything but a very loud source. Despite this, they do sound *much* better than the stock MXL capsule, so I am inclined to find a way to make them work.
