2023年5月6日 · Think about your power goals. What's your end game with the car? A streetable 300hp MR2 can be easily done with a 3SGTE swap, bolt ons and a tune. Easier with the Gen3/4/5. Whatever you do, don't mod the 5SFE for power gains because you will be disappointed. Instead, start modding your suspension, brakes, chassis etc.

2018年1月5日 · Most of the builds I have found use the 3S head with a 5SFE block, and the 98+ is preffered for the extra strength around the water pump area. From what I understand, the best thing to do with my 91 5SFE head from a performance standpoint is throw it away and get something worth a damn.

2023年2月22日 · If it wasnt worth it 15-20 years ago it isnt worth it now. Either just rebuild your 5sfe or buy a used one from a junkyard and swap over your head (The mr2 5sfe top ends are different than the camry 5sfe). I wanted to turbo my 5sfe instead of a 3sgte swap because at the time they were around the same price and the turbo 5s would be unique.

2021年1月24日 · The non-turbo version of the sw20 mr2 has this same 5sfe in it so if you find an na and take good care of it, it should be fine. One thing to watch out for is the seal issue with the s-series engines. (this includes the 5sfe, 3sge, and 3sgte) I have had a few seals in the engine degrade with time causing some troublesome leaks.

2023年1月14日 · Doug can do the work for you, but you usually need the entire original (5sfe) engine harness to serve donor parts for accessories and body stuff. As far as I've heard, it's not a 1:1 pnp 3sgte into a 5sfe body.

But yeah if you're planning a build I have those rods and an ACT 6 puck clutch. Mind you, this was for the 5sfe from an MR2 but it should be just the same
