2021年6月25日 · SLTC (Dr) Arulanandam, 42, continues to be a trailblazer as she becomes the first woman to be appointed the commander of the SAF Medical Corps' Military Medicine Institute (MMI).

The SAF provides in-house primary care and a selection of specialist services of relevance to the military. This includes aviation medicine, hyperbaric medicine, orthopaedics, psychiatry and sports medicine, among others. Peacetime healthcare services are primarily governed and provided by MMI for all SAF personnel.

The MMI, a subunit of Headquarters, SAF Medical Corps (HQMC), is responsible for the provision of predeployment medical services, musculoskeletal injury care, psychological, trauma and stress support, visual care and performance enhancement, as well as cardiopulmonary assessment.

The Military Medicine Institute (MMI) is the specialised branch of the SAF Medical Corps that provides specialised medical/dental services and in-patient care to all national servicemen and servicewomen. MMI is also in charge of the operations of medical centres located in military bases across Singapore. References []
