The European Mark VIII Golf R has 420 N/310 lb.ft torque. However, in the U.S. the torque goes down to 400 N/295 lb.ft with the 7-speed DSG or 380N/280 lb.ft. with the 6-speed manual. The difference in torque is due to the difference between the U.S. and European gasoline qualities.
