2017年8月28日 · If you haven't driven them both then do so and trust your gut. I used to own a mk4 and had it for quite a decent amount of time and loved it. I've now upgraded to a mk5 r32 and I love it even more, albeit in a different way. Both of mine were/are stick but I've driven the dsg a fair bit and I'd definitely get one if the price was right.

2023年3月5日 · Mk4 R32 can have some timing chain issues, Mk5 is fixed that and is reliable as far as I know. Obvious 6 cylinder engine, has various 6 parts to replace though, 24 valves etc. You can make them really fucking fast with a supercharger or turbo, but as is, the engine not much tuning to be done and hard to get power out of.

2023年6月10日 · The VR6 is a fairly bulletproof engine, so the concept of "too many miles" is wildly variable. Components can be replaced, the block can be rebuilt, etc. Truth is, if you're buying any 20yo vehicle for $14,000–$27,000, you really need to be the type of person who's ready willing and able to put another $20k (minimum) into restoring it.

2019年7月26日 · I've owned 4 different VR6's over the years, including a mk4 R32. The timing chain guides & tensioners are recommended by VW to be replaced around 100k. However, that's rarely necessary. I did mine on a GTI I had previously at around 160k. My R when I sold it (which I very much regret) it had 173k and still hadn't had them done.

2015年4月30日 · The mk4 R32 was not offered with a DSG option in the US, and there's no mk5 VR6 that isn't an R32.

In 2004 I first set eyes on a Deep Blue Pearl VW R32 on display inside the local mall. AWD, 6-speed, hatchback, ~240hp, and that blue color!

2013年5月22日 · A customer of the dealership I work for has a Mk4 Jetta wagon with an R32 drivetrain. I don't know the name of the shop that performed the work, but I'm sure a quick search would turn up a few results.
