2011年3月17日 · The MD-11 uses computers to provide neutral speed stability. In other words, the CG of the MD-11 appears to be at the neutral point. The MD-11 uses elevator deflection to hold attitude at any speed within the normal flight envelope, then trims the stabilizer. This is known as an "attitude hold" system.
Personal Rotate MD-11 1.07 Review : r/Xplane - Reddit
So I've done about 10 flights in Rotate's MD-11 version 1.07. I got this plane at release, and its no secret, it was pretty bad. Lots of bugs, autopilot problems, poor sounds. I pretty much just shelved the plane until now. After some research, I decided to give the 1.07 release, and I've been pleasantly surprised at the progress Rotate has made.

2014年10月22日 · After flying the MD-11 for eight years I think it's a fantastic machine. However you have to realize and treat it like its a though breed racing house. Why was the MD-11's life in passenger service so short ... - Reddit
2024年2月28日 · The MD-11 never performed as well as originally expected (range and fuel burn), so a lot of airlines weren't totally happy with them. Once a good market for the MD-11 freighter developed, some airlines took advantage of that to sell their passenger models for conversion at a good enough price to justify dumping them early (AA is one example of ...

MD-11 is probably one of my favourite airliners due to it's quirkiness. The prospect of having a study-level one in XP11 was tantalizing. I purchased it within the first hour of release. Of course, we all got to experience PMDG's interpretation of the MD-11. I still have it for FS9 and was hoping that Rotate's version would be above and beyond.

For example, MD-11s that are used for cargo operations may have a more pointed exhaust nozzle in order to improve fuel efficiency.

2023年2月3日 · The Rotate MD-11 has auto stepclimbs. In the INIT page of the MCDU where you insert the flight plan, you’d insert something like 330/350/370/390 and roll the FCP knob to 39,000 feet, turn on the Profile mode for VNAV and the plane will do the stepclimbs.
Why is the MD 11 not used for passenger service anymore
Other than this there were very few accidents involving the MD 11, unlike the DC 10 which had multiple fatal accidents and crashes. As well as many mechanical flaws. The MD 11 however only stayed in production for 12 years from 1988 to 2000. Only AC were built, I wonder why that is. The last airline to operate the MD 11 was KLM Royal Dutch ...

2009年3月26日 · At one point, Delta's management took the unusual precaution of instructing all MD-11 pilots to manually fly the planes up to cruise altitude -- in order to better understand their handling characteristics. But with some software and other modifications, FedEx and other cargo carriers have come to depend heavily on MD-11 aircraft."-and-
