Dec 11, 2006 · With M80 bullets (either the Winchester from Midway or the pulldowns from Widener's) I use 44 gr of H335 or 43.5 gr of AA2230 in LC cases with WLR primers to duplicate M80 ball (average velocity of 2750 fps on a 60-70 degree day). As always these loads are with the current lots of powder I have.

Nov 4, 2024 · M80 is made to a spec. that's a mean radius of 7.5" @ 600 yds. If you look in the back of Hatcher's Notebook, you can multiply MR x 3 to get an approximation of group size, so 22.5". So even if you do everything right, and hold better than a machine rest, you are going to get groups that are basically the size of the 8 ring.

The velocities averaged from 2725 to 2786 fps for the 14 lots of M80.
