The M18 Hellcat (officially designated the 76 mm Gun Motor Carriage M18 or M18 GMC) is a tank destroyer used by the United States Army in World War II and the Korean War.

The Carriage, Motor, 76mm Gun, M18 (abbreviated as M18 GMC) is an American tank destroyer developed during the second world war. During the summer of 1944, 685 M18s were returned to factories to receive a new gearbox. 640 of them were converted to a transport variant, M39.

Designed to be a fast hard hitting Tank Destroyer, the M18 had the combination of good speed and high velocity gun, the chassis was specially developed and the gun was the 76mm M1A2. To achieve high speeds the M18 was lightly armoured. Like all US tank destroyer the turret was opened topped and this kept down the weight.

The M18 GMCs were present during the Battle of Arracourt in France as the 704th Tank Destroyer Battalion. Lt. Edwin Leiper led an M18 platoon of C Company and in the battle knocked a total of 15 German tanks for the loss of three M18; six of these German tank kills, most of which were Panthers, were credited to one M18 led by Sgt Henry R. Hartman.

Introduced in Update 1.49 "Weapons of Victory", the M18 "Hellcat" was the epitome of the American tank destroyer doctrine. It is very fast, very mobile, and has a powerful gun, though with a large trade-off of only 12.7 mm (0.5 inches) of armour.
