Can anyone sum up the story behind why that happened? I've tried having a look online but its kinda hard to find and I don't wanna have to play the whole game to figure out the lore!

ST AR-15 is actually the civilian version, in semi auto. Ro635 is a pistol caliber carbine version of an m4.
