The Loup River flows through multiple counties in the state of Nebraska. Like many others, it is a publically owned natural feature. One’s ability to view and/or access the river varies widely depending on who owns the land adjacent to the river at any given site.

The Loup Rivers Scenic Byway is your gateway to enjoying the natural beauty found in the Loup Valley. 150 miles of road run through Wood River to Dunning, with Ord smack dab in the middle. Road trips are a way of life out here and you can witness for yourself the splendor in the valley.

The Loup River is part of a system, a basin that covers nearly one-fifth of Nebraska and contains 1,800 miles of streams.The North Loup, Middle Loup, South Loup, Dismal, Calamus, and Cedar Rivers are all in the Loup system.

With a length of 49 kilometres (30 mi), it ends in the Mediterranean Sea in Villeneuve-Loubet, near Cagnes-sur-Mer. [1] It takes its source in Andon.
