Losartan is a synthetic oral angiotensin-II receptor (type AT 1) antagonist. Antihypertensive activity and suppression of plasma aldosterone concentration are maintained, indicating effective angiotensin II receptor blockade. Terapija esencijalne hipertenzije kod odraslih, dece i adolescenata uzrasta 6-18 godina. Terapija oboljenja bubrega kod odraslih pacijenata sa hipertenzijom i dijabetes melitusom tip 2 sa proteinurijom ≥0,5 g/dan, kao deo antihipertenzivne terapije (videti odeljke 4.3, 4.4, 4.5 i 5.1).
