They have changed the game before under the hood and also visibly so, but a proper sequel just seems like the wrong idea for an e-sports game that thrives on continuity and gradual change – but it also strikes me as odd from a marketing perspective. In FPS you could obsess over accuracy to get over 90%, but doing so would almost always drop your performance in other areas as well. LoL has even more factors that are quantifiable. Only problem is that Lol is built on a pretty shitty engine which was coded badly initially, so even if they don't call it Lol 2 they will probably be forced to release a completely new engine eventually, which would probably be such a huge project that it could just as well be considered a sequel.
