Master Lok Yiu was also the first to become the Great Master Yip Man´s assistant helping him during lessons. Lok Yiu started teaching private students in 1959 when he felt ready and was sure of his Sifu approval and support to open his Wing Chun school.

Lok Yiu (駱耀) was a Chinese martial artist who studied Wing Chun as a disciple of Ip Man. Lok Yiu was born in 1922 and died on February 6, 2006, at the age of 83 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Hong Kong after a short battle with lung cancer.

Lok Yiu. Grand master Lok Yiu was born in 1922 in Hongkong. He was one of Yip Man’s first students. In 1950 he started to practice Wing Chun at Yip Man’s school in the Union of Workers in Restaurants. After some weeks of hard training only Leung Seung and Lok Yiu could persist.

Maître Lok Yiu enseigna pendant 50 années et fut à cette époque reconnu par la communauté des autres enseignants comme la plus haute autorité en matière de Wing Chun. Dès 1996, il est désigné chef instructeur du Club de Wushu de la police de Hong-Kong.
