How do you all feel about waxed canvas, like Filson?
2007年1月28日 · It's my preffered storm coat for wet weather even though I have a couple of Filson coats. I do love my wool Filson for cold weather. I've long since given up on the "modern" wonder materials that either melt when a campfire spark hits it, or leaks after a few years of hard use. Keep the gortex and other stuff, I'll stick with wool and waxed cotton.

I personally prefer 100% synthetics for jackets because of their weight and performance advantages, but a nice wool coat is always good to have on the coat rack. Get one with a wind blocking liner though. Insulation is no fun if the wind will cut right through ...
