Lara Dutta Bhupathi (née Dutta; born 16 April 1978) is an Indian actress. She won the Miss Universe 2000, and has since predominantly worked in Hindi films and series. Dutta is a recipient of a Filmfare Award and established herself as a prominent leading actress in the 2000s.

Lara was born into a multireligious family, to a Hindu-Punjabi father and a Christian-Scottish mother. On 12 May 2000, she became the second Indian, after Sushmita Sen , to win the title of Miss Universe, that was held in Cyprus.
