Accessing Fire Hazard Severity Zone Maps and Data:From June to September 2008 CAL FIRE is posting Recommended maps for Very High Fire Hazard Severity Zones in Local Responsibility Areas. For each county, until Recommended Maps are posted, Draft Maps used to develop recommendations for cities and unincorporated LRA in the county remain available.

Hub page to facilitate local agency involvement in the Local Responsibility Area (LRA) Fire Hazard Severity Zone (FHSZ) process. This page will allow local agency officials to access LRA maps and data once they are finalized.

Your contributions will help us create an interactive map of local agency Public Information Officer (PIO) contacts, which will be available on our public FHSZ website. This map will aid in addressing specific questions about Fire Hazard Severity Zones in your local community.

Los Angeles County LRA 2025 FHSZ map updates and local adoption process: Today, March 24, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. (PT), the OSFM issued the 2025 Recommended LRA FHSZ maps for Los Angeles County. Under Government Code Section 51179(b)(3), a local agency shall not decrease the level of the LRA FHSZ recommended by the OSFM.
