There is at least one Big Name Manufacturer out there selling a SBA3 braced pistol with the shortest LOP being a hair under 13.5 and extended out to 16”.. Jun 20, 2019 · I am not really sure if the 13.5 inch lop is a legitimate thing or not to be honest. But the ATF did try to jam a guy up over it, including cheating the ruler diagonally to get it to that number. And on SB Tactical's website where they have some compliance/law faqs they say the ATF "advised" that a pistol should not have a lop over 13.5 in.

Mar 13, 2019 · ATF has made it clear in several statements that LOP above 13.5" is what they considered stock territory. the recent case of the shop the ATF was trying to prosecute for manufacturing 'illegal' weapons was partially based on trying to establish a LOP over 13.5 so they could define it as a rifle instead of a pistol.
