2021年7月17日 · I've been doing a fair bit of research on both motors to know what I'm getting into, and honestly the LLY doesn't seem like that bad for reliability if you replace the mouthpiece. So here's my conundrum; LBZ prices seem consistently about ~6-7k more than a similar-condition LLY. Is it worth it?

2021年7月10日 · The lbz tax is insane and not worth it IMO. There's lbz trucks being sold in the 30k range in the current dumb market. You can buy a clean lb7 for half that or less, put sac 45 injectors in it for 2400, build the trans, and tune it making more power then a lbz and never have to worry about it again.

2023年2月23日 · If you do want the LBZ, you could also try to snag a 2006 LLY. The 2006 LLY is different from the 2004.5-2005 LLY. The 06 LLY is a detuned LBZ, so you could get an LBZ without the LBZ tax that way.

2019年6月14日 · I'm in the LBZ camp, but that 06 isn't worth 25K. it's 13 years old. I bought my 03 in 11 for 14K with 135,000 on it. Granted it's an LB7 so, in my opinion, its worth less money. It sounds to me like someone is adding the LBZ tax. They're one of the most sought after Duramax engines. As for the Dodge, I like the room in a Dodge, I love the Cummins.
