Kuku is a women’s dance performed in a circle. Originally, Kuku was played when the women came back from fishing. They would take their fishing tools and dance. Kuku is a rhythm from the Manian ethnic group in the forest region of Guinea around the city of Beyla (Not far from the Ivory-coast border). It is one of the most popular west African rhythm. In Guinea, it is played in many different celebration occasions, and at very different speed, depending on the region.

In contrast, 'kuku' is the Japanese unique way of leaning the times table by heart with rhythm. It is just like a chant. Keep chanting the times table over and over and people naturally learn it by heart without knowing or leaning the patterns of multiplication.
