This small squid is found around coral reefs, often in open water near reef cuts or in shallow seagrass beds. It was observed that this species habitually attach itself to the underside of various hydroids or any underwater substrate. It is seen hunting and foraging after sunset. It preys on small shrimp by grappling with its small arms.
