Powerful moment in California sports history. Kirk Gibson was a playoff legend. In his last at-bat of the 1984 World series, he hit a 3-run homer off Goose Gossage to win the game and clinch the series. So, last two World Series at-bats . . . 2 game-winning home runs off two Hall of Fame pitchers. Not bad.

You think if you asked 100 football, basketball, hockey and soccer fans if they put Gibson’s home run up there at the top, do you think 50 of them would agree? 30? 20? 5? Wow. I doubt 100 neutral baseball fans from around the country would put it in top three.

2022年8月6日 · The pitcher throwing the ball for the As is the best pitcher at the time and one of the best ever. Dodgers player Gibson who hit the home run was beloved by the city of LA and was kind of a gritty player who at times put the team on his back.

2020年10月28日 · Nothing will top Gibson’s, in terms of the entire postseason it’s probably Belli’s game 7 shot in the NLCS. For the World Series I’d go with Muncy’s in game 5, personally. That was the moment that really shifted the momentum back to us and made the whole thing ours to lose, especially after the disastrous end to game 4.
